2007 Boating Pic's

Family Cruise to NYC

An early morning start

Waiting to exit the Troy Federal Lock, looking southbound

Sitting at the City of Troy fuel dock, the bridge id the Green Island Bridge.

Westpoint from the Hudson River

George Washington Bridge, looking southbound

NYC Harbor

Mate #2, but I don't wanta take a nap!!!!!!!

I had a lot more pictures of the cruise but lost them to a computer blackhole, hard drive crashed and it happened before I could fully back it up. Isn't  technology great? AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

It was a nice cruise even with an unexpected mechanical issue, about a mile and a half north of the Statue of Liberty and in the middle of NY harbor, the starboard fuel pump decided it didn't want to pump fuel anymore, and of course it was a weekend. So I found a slip and we made the best of it till Monday, first thing Monday morning I was standing at the parts counter and, and, wait for it,

"Sorry we don't have one, but we can get it in a day or so"

AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Needless to say Monday afternoon the Admiral and the crew got to take a nice train ride home and I got to spend a couple of more days racking up slip charges. I had no desire to limp home on one motor.

Cruise out the Erie Canal to Oneida Lake

Headed through the locks at Waterford, looking westbound (Waterford Flight)

And the gates close behind you

A nice leak, a little unnerving sometimes. The Admiral asked what I thought would happen if the gates gave way, my only answer was "I don't think you want to know".

A nice evening picture

In side Lock E-17, looking eastbound. E-17 has the highest lift / lowest drop, depending on your direction of travel, in the NYS Canal System. 40.5 feet. This lock has knife gates instead of swing gates.

Look close along the right wall towards the gate, there's two kayak's locking throught.

Another nice evening picture.

The crew wanted their picture taken.

Overnighting at the City of Rome Canal Park Wall

Mate #3 trying to decide if she wanted off the boat.

Yes, I want off the boat AND i want to be right there!

Champlain Canal & Lower Lake Champlain

Overnighting at the Whitehall Canal Park wall. A little foggy.

Looking southbound

Looking Northbound

Lower Lake Champlain, headed northbound.

Granny (my mother) came with us on this cruise.

Mate #1 for some reason decided his T-shirt would be better over his lifejacket, ?

Granny at the helm! Look out!

I did have a lot more pictures but again, lost to the computer blackhole.
